Summer 2024 - Global Security Intern

Position Description:

Alcon Global Security is responsible for the security of Alcon’s associates, property, assets, and reputation across the globe.  The Alcon team is looking for a talented and motivated intern to join us onsite for 10-12 weeks in Summer 2024 at the Fort Worth, Texas, site. Alcon interns will have the opportunity to not only gain industry experience and network with other Alcon professionals. They will also have the chance to make real-world impact by working on meaningful projects that will help patients and customers see brilliantly. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of Alcon’s incident and emergency management programs.
  • Support the regional security directors with the strategic assessment of security guard services at Alcon’s global manufacturing sites.
  • Assist in the enhancement of Alcon’s site risk tiering methodology.
  • Help develop and establish a functional case and records management system.
  • Assist Global Security team members and senior staff in collecting Open-Source Intelligence to support the intelligence analysis function.
  • Support the Global Security Operations Center with threat hunting to identify risk to Alcon associates and operations.
  • Help create and disseminate global risk assessments and travel security briefings in support of the Protective Services function.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to internship or co-op, and at least one additional semester following internship or co-op (December 2024 graduation date & beyond).
  • Must be pursuing at least a bachelor’s level degree in Emergency Management, Security Management or Criminal Justice, Homeland Security or related discipline or related major.
  • Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0
  • Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects)
  • Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship (students on an F1 visa with CPT can be accommodated)
  • Ability to commit to a full time (40 hrs. per week) Intern position.
