BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
The internship program is a rewarding and challenging development program for talented, high-performing students. Interns are assigned to a functional area for a 10-week assignment. Each assignment will offer the opportunity for the students to work on defined projects, develop leadership skills, and interact with associates across all levels of the organization. This a HYBRID role. (Davidson, NC)
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, execute, and complete special projects as assigned.
- Gains industry knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments.
- Develops skills needed for a career in industrial distribution.
- Supports assigned manager with business project work.
- Presents intern project results to business leaders.
- Perform independent research.
- Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.
- Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma required.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- 3.0 GPA
SKILLS:
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office software required.
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management is required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills required.
- Positive, high-energy approach to assignments and a willingness to learn quickly required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
A valid driver’s license is required.
