We are currently seeking a full-time Staff Scientist to join our Natural Resources team in Columbia, South Carolina.


 

Job Snapshot:

As a Natural Resources Staff Scientist, you will be responsible for the performance of environmental projects including office-based and field activities.

  • Support of natural resources projects including regulatory agency coordination, wetland delineations, protected species surveys, and environmental compliance


 

Additional consideration will be given to applicants with GIS experience including providing technical GIS support and production of figures for scientific reports.


 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Forestry, or a related field.
  • Experience or previous studies in environmental compliance (natural resources)
  • Working knowledge of ESRI's ArcGIS Pro and/or ArcMap software
  • Ability to write and converse on technical matters in English without assistance
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions


 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with:
    • Wetland delineations requiring identification of wetland plants, hydrology, and hydric soils
    • Environmental permitting related to wetlands and surface waters
    • Protected species surveys and ecological surveys
  • Advanced GIS experience with ESRI's ArcGIS Pro and/or ArcMap software
  • Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) experience
