Graduate Analyst - Engineering & Environmental Office (EEO)

Job Description

This is an accelerated graduate program designed for high potential, highly-mobile, and candidates with strong interest in the automotive industry, including automotive finance. The selected individual will rotate through three placements over an exciting 18 month period. This program is not a shadow experience and individuals will be exposed to hands on training in all aspects of the business.

Role Summary:

During the rotation program, the Graduate will get experience in the various regulatory driven engineering tasks performed by EEO, including but not limited to Emission Certification, In-Use Verification, On-Board Diagnostics (OBD), Defect Reporting, Fleet Compliance Reporting, Road Load and generally monitoring and analysis of regulations. The Graduate Analyst will also support EEO’s cross-functional Regulatory Affairs, Technical Program Management & Digital Solutions team, which oversees the department’s Quality -and Product Compliance Systems and provides project management support for the technical teams.  

Role Responsibilities:

Technical Program Management & Digital Solutions / Regulatory Affairs (33.33%)

•    Assists in creating and aligning of EEO’s process related documents (e.g., policies, process 
        standards, work instructions, desktop procedures, forms) within EEO and VW Group
•    Assists in Project coordination for new and special projects and the creation of presentations 
        for workshops and executive leadership
•    Participates in monitoring of regulations and alignment of such with VW Group and Alliance 
        for Automotive Innovation

Homologation (Emission Certification, OBD, In-Use -> depending on the candidate's background, their interest and EEO’s needs at the time, we may limit the homologation rotation to one or two of the sub-topics) (33.33%) 

•    Supports preparing, reviewing, and editing emission certification applications 
•    Assists in preparing, reviewing, and editing On-Board Diagnostic system and Production 
        Vehicle Evaluation (PVE) document submissions
•    Supports with the procurement, inspection and preparation of test vehicles 
•    Assists in reviewing and assessing test results 

Agency Reporting / (33.33%)

•    Supports the team in monitoring of emission defects and creation of Defect Reports
•    Supports in the gathering of information and the creation of Fleet Compliance Reports 

Rotation 1:

Qualifications

Preferred Degree:

Engineering Degree, Bachelor of Science

Specialized Skills: Knowledge or certifications unique to this role

•    Basic understanding of vehicle emission systems 

Skills: General skills needed to perform the job

•    Analytical and conceptual thinking –using logic and reasoning, creativity and strategy
•    Communication skills –interpersonal, presentation and written
•    Detail oriented 
•    Computer oriented – skilled in the use of various software and any Microsoft Office Products
•    Capability of simplifying complex topics
