Summer Intern/Medical Affairs

Department Description:

The Nucala Medical team, as part of the Respiratory team within US Medical Affairs at GSK, is dedicated to developing and executing the medical strategy to support Mepolizumab (Nucala™) for patients with severe eosinophilic asthma (SEA), chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP), eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) and hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES), to be ambitious for patients so that they can do more, feel better, live longer.

Job Description:

This position will allow the selected candidate to:

  • Work closely with the US Medical Affairs team to support ongoing projects and the overall medical strategy
  • Engage with External Experts and support the planning of advisory board meetings (depending on timing of internship)
  • Learn about the publication strategy, how it is developed in collaboration with Global, and how data dissemination occurs for a medicine at various venues
  • Evaluate and develop innovative educational opportunities across the spectrum of HCPs/aHCPs
  • Participate in medical content development and creation of communication materials
  • Conduct strategic reviews of medical literature to identify educational gaps to optimize patient care
  • Contribute to portions of operational planning (depending on timing of internship)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a PharmD degree (incoming 3rd year student preferred).
  • Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the 12-week internship cycle (May-July/August).
  • Must have an active student status and/or within 12-24 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Fundamentals (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong problem-solving skills & capable of taking initiative
  • Strong learning agility and team player
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Some basic therapeutics background/knowledge completed as part of PharmD curriculum

Benefits:

  • While GSK embraces a flexible work environment, we do require certain positions to be onsite. Candidates who are hired for an on-site role or hybrid role, and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location, are eligible for relocation stipend. This is a one-time payment to help offset housing & relocation expenses. Please refer to the position details for the requirements of each position.
