Poultry Production and Live Operations Summer Intern (Albertville, AL)

The position holders will work in a variety of poultry production and live operations positions to become familiar with the various parts of the poultry production process. On the live side, you will work in a variety of Live Production locations which may include the Feed Mill, Hatcheries, Broiler Service, and Breeder Service. You will also gain exposure to operation support departments such as Accounting, Safety, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources, etc.

Our interns are expected to contribute to our success through innovative ideas and value creation. Based on successful performance and the talent needs of our business, internships are intended to provide exposure to a real-life work environment, regular interaction with a supervisor, practical experience in the poultry live production industry, the opportunity to self-evaluate personal strengths and opportunities for further development, and development of workplace competencies.

*This position is slated for candidates who are currently local to this area. Priority consideration will be provided to these applicants first. If local candidates are not selected, candidates from other areas will then be reviewed for consideration.
 

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university. Students seeking a degree in Poultry Operations or other Agriculture related fields are preferred.

Experience: Previous work experience of any kind is preferred.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.

Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively; excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Special Skills: A successful candidate for an intern position should possess the following:
