How You’ll Make this Internship Opportunity Your Own:

 

Our Cyber Security Summer Internship will help ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all data and systems across GDIT or client organizations. The ideal intern will have a basic understanding of vulnerability management activities (vulnerability scanning, prioritization, and remediation/patching activities). You’ll also have an interest in understanding the principles, methods, and tools for evaluating information systems security features against a set of specified security requirements. You will want to work with Information System Security Engineers to conduct Assessment & Authorization (A&A) and Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) support services activities associated with ensuring strict compliance with all Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements. You will have the opportunity to develop cybersecurity skills, gather and research data, and contribute to the creation of customer deliverables.

The Must-Haves:

  • Currently enrolled as a rising junior in a bachelor's degree program focused on Cybersecurity (or related STEM field or engineering discipline, e.g. Information  Systems / Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, etc) from a United States-based college or university.
  • Active TS/SCI with CI polygraph.
  • Work to be onsite at the GDIT Lee Road Chantilly location.

 

What you Offer as a Stand-Out Candidate:

  • Pursuing a certification in the field of cyber security (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or Certified Ethical Hacker)
  • Basic knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in cybersecurity engineering, information systems, and related technical support.
  • Basic understanding of Information Assurance
  • Basic understanding of Vulnerability Management (Vulnerability Scanning, Prioritization, and Remediation/Patching activities)
  • Basic knowledge of related hardware and software

 

GDIT interns are paid and full-time (40 hours/week) for 10 consecutive weeks
