REMOTE Nonprofit Grant-Marketing-Fundraising

Sports Media Inc. is seeking an intern for the position of nonprofit grant writer and fundraiser. The individual working in this role requires a high level of energy and exceptional skills in building relationships. This position will include all aspects of social media, marketing, and public relations, while preparing the intern for a position as a grant writer and fundraising coordinator. This will be a remote work position, interns can check in between On boarding start date ranges:
January 1-15 Winter

April 1-10 Spring 

June 1-10 Summer  Fall 

August 1-10 Fall

October 1-10 Winter 

Responsibilities: 

  • Actively participate in the execution and management of fundraising programs including the ability to multi-task, handle logistics and follow through on multiple events/programs at the same time.
  • Identify new corporate sponsors and maximize fundraising opportunities through various business development techniques including cold-calling, following up on warm leads and attending remote networking events.
  • Prepare letters of inquiry, funding requests and other materials to solicit funds, schedule presentations and follow-up as appropriate.
  • Deliver organized, structured, and persuasive presentations, using effective written and verbal communication.
  • Coordinate targeted advertising, sales, and marketing initiatives to communicate Sports Media’s services.
  • Advise and assist in the development of a local fundraising strategy, plan, and budget.
  • Prepare regular progress reports to supporters.
  • Serve as a consultant and resource to volunteers in planning and implementing their tasks and/or responsibilities.
  • Assure appropriate utilization of volunteer skills and resources and provide guidance in carrying out assignments and recognition for their time and effort.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records and files for assigned fundraising events, programs and activities and routinely review the status of each with the Executive Director.
  • Coordinate the production of collateral materials related to fundraising events programs and activities.

Requirements:

  • Current undergraduate majoring in communications, business, marketing, sociology, public relations, or related majors.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of non-profit fundraising and/or special event experience.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong presentation skills, oral and written are required.
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects at once.
