Safety Intern

Summary:

Reporting to a Safety Manager, the Safety Intern will enter an approximately 10 week program to learn the Aggregates business and apply their class learning to the real world. The goal of the Safety Internship program is to provide individuals with hands-on experience in the Aggregates mining industry.

Assist in plant safety audits and risk assessments
Work with local management and contractors to ensure safety compliance
Assist in the collection and data entry into the safety center
Entering/updating task training documents
Analyze trends in regards to safety incidents

 

Qualifications and skills:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Human Resources or Safety Management and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Prior full-time experience is not required.
  • Must possess the ability to learn technical processes, high-level verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
