Cincinnati Market 2024 Summer Nurse Extern Program

Mercy Health Cincinnati Market is excited to offer selected nursing students the opportunity to gain clinical competence and ease the transition from student to professional through a special summer program.

 

During the Nurse Externship Program, students are assigned to preceptors who are experienced Registered Nurses chosen for their excellence in practice. Externs participate in a number of clinical experiences and attend special seminars designed to enhance their practice. Externs are assigned to areas that match their personal interests and will complete clinical rotations. 

 

The Mercy Health Summer Nurse Externship Program is a twelve-week, summer program from June 3, 2024 to August 23, 2024.

 

Facilities hiring summer nurse externs:

  • Mercy Hospital - Anderson
  • Mercy Hospital - Clermont
  • Mercy Hospital - Fairfield
  • Mercy Hospital - West
  • The Jewish Hospital

 

Externs will receive a stipend while in the program and are expected to work the designated schedule with an assigned preceptor, following their work schedule. Externs are also expected to attend all required educational experiences.

 

The application deadline for all sessions is March 1, 2024. Notification of acceptance will be made by April 5, 2024.

 

Job Requirements for the Summer Nurse Extern Program are as follows:

 

1.  Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program and have completed one class and one clinical rotation to qualify.

2.   Commit to the entire summer program.

3.   Complete Online Employment Application.
