Software Dev Cloud Intern

Position: Software Dev Cloud Intern
Duration: 10 Weeks
Date: June 3 to August 9, 2024
Location: Hybrid
 

The team you'll be part of

You will be part of the Cloud Mobility Manager (CMM) within the CNS Division of Nokia.  The CMM delivers a converged packet core solution which addresses 5G (AMF), 4G LTE (MME), and even 2G/3G in a fully cloud-native architecture. Education Recommendations


Currently a candidate for a Bachelor’s degree or Master's or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with an accredited school in the US.

 

Are you passionate about solving problems?

As part of our team, you will:

Work on technologies to improve development & prototyping in Virtualization/Cloud Computing including technologies like:

  • OpenStack and other well-known NFV-I platforms, and
  • Container Technology/Kubernetes platforms including AWS, Google GCP/Anthos

Contribute to a project in the following areas:

  • Continuous integration and validation, automation, coding & scripting – e.g. Jenkins, etc.
  • Lifecycle of a Container Function (CNF)/application - which covers instantiate, delete, maintain, heal, update, scaling (horizontal pod autoscaling).
  • Keyword development (modular coding/reuse of code base/implementation of use cases).
  • Follow all Nokia Information Security policies and guidelines including ISMS (ISO27001 program)

Will work with a set of defined APIs to understand the above application lifecycle.

 

You have:

  • Python proficiency,
  • Linux knowledge and some experience with containers (Kubernetes)

 

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Networking IP Knowledge (IPv6/IPv4), Git, Shell - KSH/BASH, vi/emacs, Ansible, YAML/JSON file format familiarity
  • Automation infrastructure - including Development Operations platforms/Continuous Integration, Jenkins, Robot Framework
