Human Resource Intern, Change Management

Participate in a 12-week internship program built around your career goals and hands-on projects that impact the organization. As part of the Lamb Weston University Recruiting Internship Program, Interns work towards completing a Capstone project and are assigned a mentor who will guide and evaluate performance. Whether you are interested in Agricultural Science, Data Science, Finance, Supply Chain, IT, Manufacturing, Food Science, Marketing, or Engineering, our highly selective summer intern program has projects that will help you build the next stage in your career.

  • 12-week paid internship, May – August (actual dates may vary)

Intern Project

The Organizational Change Management (OCM) intern does not have supervisory responsibility; however, this person will have to partner with many others in the organization to succeed. The OCM intern will assist the Organizational Change Management team in leading enterprise change associated with transformation of business processes, technology, job roles and/or organizational structures. This includes development and execution of change management strategies and plans that support organizational readiness and maximize stakeholder adoption and usage.

The OCM intern will work with organizational leaders, communications and program/project teams to ensure adoption, utilization and proficiency of the changes that impact team members in the organization. The OCM intern may also provide direct support and coaching to front-line managers and supervisors as they help their direct reports through transitions. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in coordination of business readiness activities virtually, in person or in any hybrid format to ensure effective transfer of knowledge
  • Support the OCM team in preparing and executing a variety of stakeholder engagement tactics or formats, such as simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or webinars
  • Design and/or develop collateral, such as training materials, videos, eLearning, quick reference guides, etc. using software such as MS PowerPoint, Articulate, Canva, Prezi, Webex, SharePoint, and others.
  • Seek continuous improvement ideas that will help the team's productivity and success through engagement and leadership development activities
  • Copywriting and design for multiple communication channels, including flyers, PowerPoint presentations, digital signage, emails, etc
  • Draft presentations for a variety of meetings, events and audiences
  • Support on SharePoint development and design projects
  • Begin to learn a structured methodology and assist in change management activities
  • Support the execution of communications initiatives
  • Learn how to assess the change impact
  • Support the Change Management team with additional activities as needed

Basic and Preferred Qualifications

  • Juniors, Seniors, or Master’s degree students preferred but also accepting recent grads
  • This is a full-time position with 8-hour shifts Monday-Friday but a successful candidate may need to occasionally flex to other shifts (example: 2nd shift, night shift) as part of your capstone project
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to meet the Lamb Weston Authorized Driver standards 
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability and willingness to work independently 
  • Strong analytical skills
  • A self-motivated individual that is able to multi-task and lead others
  • Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy-to-understand business terms 
  • Excellent computer competency with experience with MS suite
