Intern - IT Analytics and Automation

SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS

 

JOB TITLE: Intern – IT Analytics & Automation

REQUISITION:  INF00BH

DEPARTMENT: Information Technology – Various Evergy Locations

LOCATION: Kansas City, MO

                              Topeka, KS

PAY RANGE: $20.00 - $24.00 

 

Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Flex hours available        ex: 7 – 4 or 9 - 6)

We provide a number of intern events throughout the summer to burn some extra energy, including volunteer events, power plant tours, lunch and learns, and more

 

Intern Description:

There are several exciting opportunities available within this job posting.  There are openings in our Data engineering \ Integration and Data Science space, as well as automation and application development \ management. 

 

Job tasks include but not limited to:

  • Data engineering and Statisitcal model creation
  • Automation creation and CI/CD development using GitHub, CloudBees CI and general scripting languages and concepts
  • Building \ administering automations and applications on the Microsoft Power Platform
  • Application lifecycle management which includes but is not limited to installing, updating, patching and maintaining current application codebase, troubleshooting issues and assisting in the overall health of the application.
  • Web Service and integration creation \ management leveraging low code tools and technologies.
  • Focused on Microsoft PowerSuite Co-pilot developers 

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

Candidates must be junior or senior currently enrolled in a university or technical program an IT degree program such as Information Technology

 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:

  • Basic familiarity with standard concepts, best practices and procedures related to application development.
  • Basic familiarity with workstations, networks and operating systems including Windows 10 and MS O365.
  • Ability to work independently, leverage basic problem solving skills and report progress on task work.
  • Understanding of general programing concepts
  • General understanding of database concepts and SQL

 

Working Conditions:

This position will be remote most of the time however, going into the office will be required for certain meetings and activities.  Typically 1 to 4 days a month.
