Internal Communications Intern

CHS has an exciting opportunity for a Summer communications Intern to work within our communications team. This role will support internal communications and will provide a diverse experience within the corporate communications field as part of the nation’s largest cooperative.

This intern will serve as a valued member of the team, participating and/or leading a variety of communications projects and content creation across corporate, internal, leadership and human resources, communications. You must be a strong writer and be detail-oriented, independent, and eager to learn with excellent communications skills and the ability to handle multiple projects.


  • Participate in and lead special projects, which may include the development and delivery of communications campaigns for CHS employees
  • Write and design communications, newsletter stories and related content to reach both online and offline employees
  • Work on both content and image/graphic creation, including branding and graphical strategies for both campaigns and general communication needs
  • Collaborate with individuals across the internal and business communications teams as well as our digital and content teams and other corporate functions

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Working toward a degree in marketing, communications, journalism, leadership, business, agricultural journalism/communications or another related degree area
  • Experience working with student organizations, event planning and/or communications
  • Ability to work both independently and alongside a team
  • Writing and digital or social media skills or experience
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Additional Qualifications

  • Background or interest in agriculture
  • Prior internship or work experience
