Right now we’re looking for Interns in the Global Product Maintenance team to join us to do career defining work.

In this role, the individual can participate and own key aspects of the plan for Complex Quality & Supply Chain (QSC) Maintenance Technical projects (e.g., product reformulation, material understanding, product remediation). The individual may also have a key project/report to deliver as part of the placement, which will be written and delivered to meet Haleon’s internal standards.
As a function of QSC, the Global Product Maintenance Team ensures the business continuity of Haleon’s commercial products through the resolution of technical issues due to raw material or processing changes. This team also utilizes investigation techniques when unforeseen issues arise during production. The team has access to lab and pilot scale facilities to prepare materials and products for feasibility, sensory, or clinical studies. We strive to be a trusted central resource on hand to give our business units the additional technical resource they need to maintain our commercial products on the market. What will your individual contribution at Haleon be?
- Design, plan and conduct product development activities, including pre-formulation, formulation, process development/optimization for solid dosage forms such as tablets.
- Maintain inventory of excipients for prototype development.
- Collaborate with multiple functions for excipient or formulation analysis and stability evaluation, as required.
- Perform evaluations including but not limited to Tablet Characterization (weight, thickness, hardness, friability, imaging etc.).
- Data analysis and presentation of results.
- Understand regulatory context and constraints around material use in dietary supplements, food and pharmaceuticals.
- Ensure all work is always conducted following good scientific practice and Good Manufacturing Practice (where required).

To enable you to perform in this future talent opportunity:
- Developing knowledge of relevant dosage forms including unit operation understanding and analytical testing.
- Good oral and written communication skills; strong technical writing capability.
- Effective relationship building, organizational and project management skills.
- Developing knowledge in negotiating and agreeing timelines and milestones with sponsors/other functions and continually monitoring progress to ensure timely delivery.
- Demonstrated a sense of curiosity and appetite to learn by themselves, with strong prioritization and analytical thinking skills.
Other requirements:
- Graduating from a Bachelor's degree program between December 2024 - May 2026
- Background preferably in Chemical, Engineering, Pharmaceutical, Food or related sciences.
- Ability to work on site in Richmond, VA
- Candidate must be available to work full-time throughout the 12-week internship (Approximately 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday)
Role start date: Flexible start date between May - June 2024
