Role & Team Description:
We have a software focused artificial intelligence and machine learning engineering role within our 312 Labs organization. Our world-class engineers are passionate about delivering industry best mobile innovation and this is an exciting opportunity to join the team located in the heart of downtown Chicago!
The System Software organization within 312 Labs is responsible for delivering full software stacks across a variety of concept and production devices and services. We dive deep into a wide variety of stacks delivering new and cutting edge consumer experiences leveraging the latest technologies.
Scope of Responsibilities:
As a member of the System Software organization focused on artificial intelligence and machine learning, your role will include designing and developing new mobile experiences that leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning. You will be asked to:
Cultivate a strong engineering culture at Motorola as it pertains to our software experiences and performance within the Android mobile ecosystem
Lead development of platform software into new device platforms
Drive improvement of technologies enhancing quality, performance, and efficiency
Collaborate with external teams to ensure effective and timely development and integration of new functionality and end-to-end experiences
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI/ML and related technologies
Position Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
BS/MS degree in CS, EE, or a related engineering discipline
2 + years of experience in mobile development (Android/iOS) and cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure)
2+ years of experience with Python, Linux OS, C, C++, Java, Kotlin, and backend frameworks
Preferred Qualifications:
In-depth knowledge of AI/ML techniques and frameworks including custom model development and training
Knowledge of deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
Proven strategic thinking and planning skills
Ability to lead and mentor
Effective communication skills
Overall experience implementing various design patterns with strong algorithmic, data structure, and object oriented programming skills
Multimedia/image processing software development experience
Familiarity with wireless protocols (e.g. broadband cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, USB, etc..) and motion sensors
Working Knowledge of OpenCL and OpenGL ES
Agile development background as well as experience with Android Studio, Git, Gerrit, and Jira
1+ years of technical leadership experience
