Summer Internship (Governor's Crime Commission)

This posting is for a part time Summer Intern with the Governor's Crime Commission at the North Carolina Department of Public Safety (DPS). This Internship is expected to start on May 20, 2024, and last for 10 weeks, ending on July 26, 2024. The work schedule is part time, up to 30 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm). This position will be 100% Remote. The rate of pay is $18.00 per hour. 

Duties will involve Process Mapping, Process Documentation, Communication/Writing, and Process Improvement.  Specific responsibilities include:

  • Visually mapping out an overview of what the new processes will look like for applications and awards in the new online grant management system.
  • Documenting the mapped processes in a detailed format to be entered into a manual.
  • Communicating/Writing in clear and comprehensive manner for the user of the manual.
  • Analyzing documented processes (existing workflows and application processes) to find areas for improvement and increased efficiency.
  • Training will be developed for new employees on the new processes, process map, manual and training.

This will be a unique summer internship opportunity for a student. The intern will document or map the new processes related to applications and awards for grant planners in a manual. The intern will then analyze the new processes to create suggestions for improvement and efficiency within the workplace.
