Risk Advisory Services Intern

We are YHB, a top tier regional CPA firm with Risk Advisory Services opportunities in our Richmond, Winchester, and Owings Mills offices for  IT Audit Interns.

 

As a Risk Advisory Services Assurance Intern, you will:

  • Gain first hand experience in a rapidly growing service line with increasing demand in multiple industries.
  • Work alongside a team of technology and auditing experts who care about your career and personal success.
  • Be provided the tools and training to stay on the leading edge of how technology impacts financial statement audits.
  • Interact with a wide network of internal and external stakeholders.

 

Intern Experiences will Include, but are not limited to:

  • Exposure to Performing IT General Controls (ITGC) and application control testing in support of YHB’s Assurance and Risk Advisory Services Practices.
  • Documenting the results of tests consistent with firm policy and regulatory standards including the AICPA, PCAOB and FDICIA.
  • Shadowing/Participating in the SOC Report review process for engagement teams.
  • Working in a variety of industries to validate IT and business controls, and identify recommendations to improve audit clients' IT security posture.
  • Exhibit your attention to detail by documenting test plans provided via YHB’s audit methodology.
  • Quickly learn about key aspects of the engagement. This will include scheduling and running control process walkthroughs with clients, preparing and tracking request lists, documenting results, and elevating potential issues to a supervisor or manager.
  • Learn how to identify control gaps that will make our clients’ operating environments more secure;
  • Develop a strong network of professional connections both internally at YHB and throughout our client base.

Education & Experience:

  • Junior or Senior in Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Accounting Information Technology Audit, Cybersecurity, or Business Administration at an accredited school.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a very diverse range of people.
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter with ability to multitask and complete assignments within deadline constraints.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism, character, integrity, dependability, and trustworthiness combined with a cooperative attitude.
