Patient Experience Representative, Emergency Medicine
Boston Children's Hospital is hiring a Patient Experience Representative in the Emergency Medicine department. The schedule for this position requires rotating shifts with a requirement to work every other weekend. Additionally, there is a 6-week full-time (40 hours/week) training period before starting on the assigned shift (day, evening, or night).
The Patient Experience Representative, Emergency Medicine will be:
- Providing positive and effective customer service that supports departmental and hospital operations.
- Scheduling patient encounters and procedures to coordinate within and across providers, departments, and institutions and to optimize resource utilization.
- Initiating calls for emergency services as required.
- Collaborating and communicating with clinicians, supervisors, and providers on referrals and best practices to manage complex patient issues and maintain efficient patient/visitor flow.
- Verifying, recording and processing patient demographics, insurance/payment and referral information for patient encounters.
To qualify, you must have:
- High School Diploma required.
- 1 year of administrative, customer service, or healthcare experience preferred.
- The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations preferred.
- The ability to work with diverse internal and external parties preferred.
