Cybersecurity Intern

Job Title: Cybersecurity Intern

Position Summary

 

The Intern will be working directly with the STERIS Product Regulatory Cybersecurity team, internal stakeholders and external security industry partners to ensure that STERIS does its part to defend our critical healthcare products against today’s threats and collaborate as a part of STERIS’ shared responsibility to helping our healthcare Customers build a more secure and resilient healthcare sector infrastructure for the future.

 

Paid Internship
Internship Dates: Monday, May 20th - Friday, August 9th
Location: Mentor, OH (On-site)

 

Duties

  • Actively participate in various operations tasks in support of regulatory cybersecurity deliverables.
  • Demonstrate agility and adaptability in learning new processes.
  • Assist with the administration of security questionnaire process (SQP), including process improvement activities.
  • Support in the identification and documentation of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and stakeholders such as Product Security Incident Response Team members and SQP SMEs.
  • Assist with creation of vulnerability management tracking and reporting tools.
  • Assist with the development security awareness program at STERIS.
  • Participate in security industry information sharing forum meetings and webinars.
  • Work as a collaborate with other functional areas to contribute to cybersecurity deliverables.

 

Required Experience

Education Requirements-

  • In junior year (or beyond) of a bachelor’s program in cybersecurity or related field or within final term of a cybersecurity bootcamp.
  • CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, and/or ISC2 CC certifications are a plus.

Experience, Knowledge or Skills-

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel applications.
  • Preferred knowledge in networking, security, and information security
  • Preferred exposure to cybersecurity related regulatory guidance and or industry standards
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • High quality orientation.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including creating high quality presentations, reports and similar documents within defined timelines.
