About the role

Consulting Summer Associates (CRCSA), working alongside and under the mentorship of an experienced Casualty Risk Consultant, while coordinating with our Property Risk Engineers, will gain exposure to Global Property and Casualty insurance loss prevention and risk mitigation services we provide to our underwriting partners and clients. 

CRCSA’s will have the opportunity to conduct site surveys at various locations and occupancies and assess Commercial Casualty risks while gaining first-hand knowledge of the role a Casualty Risk Consultant in reducing risk and improving safety and our unique value in the Insurance Industry. 

 

AIG’s summer interns are immersed in the day-to-day operations of a fast-moving, global insurance company. You will gain valuable, hands-on experience, enhance your business acumen and gain sight into our industry during the 10-week program. As a summer intern you will work side-by-side with industry leaders on dynamic projects, with ample opportunity for challenges, learning and achievement.

 

After initial orientation and training, summer interns will join the Casualty Risk Consulting team to obtain core technical knowledge and professional skills in a diverse and global environment . In addition to the experience acquired on the job, summer interns have the opportunity to learn directly from senior management and participate in webinars, discussion forums, and networking receptions. 

Upon finishing the internship, you may be considered for full-time analyst position to begin summer of 2025.

 

What we’re looking for:

AIG seeks candidates who have excelled in previous work experience, demonstrated outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement, possess strong analytical, quantitative and interpersonal skills, and are enthusiastic about learning non-traditional applications for EH&S, science and engineering degrees.

 

The ideal candidates will be bold thinkers with an entrepreneurial spirit, and will possess a powerful blend of technical skills, on-going learning, statistical & financial acumen and adaptive communication, empathy, and listening skills.

 

We also look for a diverse background of experience, culture, and thought.  Successful candidates have good communication skills and work well in a team environment.

 

Required:

Bachelors or Master’s degree in Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S), Science (Geology, Biology, Chemistry, or Environmental Science) or Engineering, be received no later than June 2025.

Valid U.S. Driver’s License with a minimum of 2 years driving history

Excellent Oral and Written communication skills

 

Program Dates

Our 2024 Summer Internship Program will run from June 3rd, 2024 – August 9th, 2024. 

 

Locations

AIG Casualty Risk Consulting Summer Intern positions are available in New York.

 

The hourly pay range for this position is $20.00 - $31.97. However, the final base salary offered to a candidate may be higher or lower than the range depending on a number of factors, including the candidate’s specific work location.
