This Claims intern position provides an opportunity to gain an understanding of workers compensation claims and work experience in a dynamic Claims environment within one of the top US regional Workers’ Compensation management groups. Summit Consulting LLC, headquartered in Lakeland, FL, is a super-regional Workers’ Compensation insurance management company operating in fourteen states throughout the Southeast and Southwest United States.

This intern role includes working with Summit’s Claims Department team to:

• Rotation through all departments within Claims
• Exposure to select Operational areas
• Learn about Claims Adjusting in Workers’ Compensation
• Experience with a Field Adjustor to learn investigation/evaluation of claims
• Gain experience with the Claims Liaison team who work directly with our agents and adjustors
• Assist with troubleshooting reported issues
• Research solutions

The internship also includes a project for the intern to advance during the summer, ending in a presentation of the project results at the end of the internship.

Desired qualities:

Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program from an accredited four-year college or university, with an anticipated graduation date of Spring/Summer 2024 to Fall/Winter 2024. 

Dependable, self-motivated, goal-oriented, individual who has a desire to help people and provide solutions.  Able to apply critical thinking and multi-tasking skills.
