Water Resources Engineer Intern - Summer 2024

Your Opportunity

Our Global Mining team has a need for an Water Resources Engineering Intern based out of our office in Salt Lake City, UT. You would work within our mining, minerals and metals team in support of various clients in completing exciting projects such as underground and surface mining operations, conceptual projects and closure studies.

Your Key Responsibilities

Working in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Stantec and its Clients.

Developing an understanding of applicable safety codes, regulations and guidelines.

ROLE AND TASKS

Actively engage with project team members such as project managers and project technical leads to complete tasks.

Contribute to the preparation of quality technical documents and/or drawings.

Contribute to design calculations, equipment/material specifications and data sheets, discipline design drawings etc. with required supervision commensurate with your level of experience.

Collect and/or analyze field data.

Work with a multi-discipline engineering and design team on a day-to-day basis.

Coordinate/participate in the preparation of project designs and details.

Participate in team meetings and project meetings.

Perform various office tasks as required to deliver a quality product on schedule.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or secondary degree in the professional discipline related to this internship.

An interest in acquiring mining specific experience in your discipline.

Proficiency with software relevant to the professional discipline of this internship.

You must be a self-starter and be able to work in a team setting.
