Calgon Carbon Corporation is currently looking for a dynamic, motivated college student for our 2024 Internship program which is scheduled to begin on May 13, 2024

Position: Tax Intern

Location: Headquarters – Moon Township, PA

Hours of work: Full-time position with hours generally Monday through Friday 9AM-5PM

Overview

Our internship program provides real-world experience enabling future professionals the ability to apply what they are learning in school, to applicable situations in a career field they are pursuing. This internship program helps interns gain additional skills that can be applied to future jobs. 

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Developing a general understanding of activated carbon and target markets
  • Assist with tax credit process along with issuing tax journal entries
  • Work with customer service, sales representatives, and accounts receivable department with processing tax credits for customers
  • Help with preparing applicable documents for Federal and state tax return compliance
  • Assist in migration of tax software and processing related data
  • Assisting the tax department with income tax and sales and use tax audits

Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and characteristics

  • The successful intern will be punctual, reliable, detail-oriented, flexible, and adapting to changes, is self-motivated, and acquires new skills quickly
  • Communication is paramount. Be proactive in keeping the Tax Department staff up to date on your schedule, your workload, and your questions
  • Intern is expected to work 30 - 40 hours per week
  • Proactive in asking for work. There are plenty of tasks that need to be completed; therefore, always communicate your availability to pick-up another project
  • Interns are expected to act professionally and be an important part of our team

Relevant Fields of Study - Working towards a bachelor’s degree in:

  • Accounting or Finance

Qualifications

  • All applicants must be authorized to work in the US
  • Candidates must be willing to comply with pre-employment testing and background check
