Legal Intern (JAG Office)

This posting is for a part time Summer Legal Administrative Intern with the JAG (Judge Advocate General) Office at the NC National Guard (NCNG) Headquarters located in Raleigh. The NCNG is a division of the North Carolina Department of Public Safety (DPS). This Internship is expected to start on May 20, 2024, and last for 10 weeks, ending on July 26, 2024. The work schedule is part time, up to 30 hours per week Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. The rate of pay is $18.00 per hour.

 

The Legal Intern will assist the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate (JAG) in providing full spectrum legal services to The Adjutant General of the North Carolina National Guard, and the Joint Force Command Staff, and to Soldiers, Airmen, and their families.    

 

The Legal Intern will research legal issues in the following areas:
administrative law, contracts and fiscal law, criminal law, civilian personnel law, ethics, decedents’ estates, wills, and general legal assistance matters.

In addition, the intern will participate in Staff and client meetings, as well as provide assistance to Judge Advocates with briefings and development of legal opinions and advice.
