Summer 2024 - Human Resources - People Solution Center Intern

Job Summary

PSEG is looking for an Intern for the Human Resources Department/ People Solutions Center team

This job involves working as a Human Resources supports the business functions across the enterprise in areas that include Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Health and Safety, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Benefits Administration, Compensation, and Data Analytics.  As companies reorganize to gain a competitive edge, HR plays a key role in helping companies deal with an ever-changing environment and the greater demand for quality employees and business continuity.  

This position will be Hybrid- mostly remote with opportunities to come into the office for meetings, etc..

Job Responsibilities

Assignments will include working alongside professionals in the following areas:

  • Responds to employees’ and managers’ inquiries in a timely manner through calls and ASK HR portal cases
  • Learns HR policies, procedures, forms and programs to accurately advise our customers and build upon their subject matter proficiency.
  • Supports employees who need assistance with day-to-day HR transactions (employee status/changes including terminations, org changes and job description updates) by providing guidance and resources on various HR processes/procedures.
  • Demonstrate judgement in prioritizing work and recognizing when to escalate an issue or concern.
  • Demonstrate ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Candidates will be working alongside Human Resources professionals to assist with day-to-day duties. 
  • The ideal candidate will be able to prioritize multiple projects and bring new ideas to the table.
  • Provide other support within the People Solutions Center as assigned.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Education/Skills: The successful candidate(s) must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Human Resource Management, Leadership/Organizational Development, Labor Relations, or related HR/Business major. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Candidates must have completed Sophomore level course work for consideration.  


Preferred:

  • 3.0 GPA

All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no medical benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work 40 hours per week over the duration of the summer internship. We are targeting currently enrolled/matriculating students that are able to commute to their designated work location as needed. Housing, transportation, and immigration support will not be provided in association with these positions.
