2024 MADD Ignite Internship (Finance) - Dallas/ Ft. Worth, TX

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer & Administrator, the Finance Business Process Analyst Intern will work closely with our finance professionals to assist with business process mapping, business analysis, and documentation of procedures as it relates to the flow of revenue receipts into our business systems and financial accounts.

This is an in-office, paid, internship that runs from June 10 - August 2, 2024.

RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the position):   

  • Interview process participants to understand and document revenue business processes and workflows to improve and maintain them.
  • Develop clear and detailed process maps and models using visual diagrams and written procedure descriptions in coordination with finance team and other staff members.
  • Collaborate with staff members to analyze processes to identify troublesome tasks, identify trends and opportunities for automation and improvement.
  • Review and understand financial policies to validate that current revenue business processes and rules comply, informing finance leadership of need for further consideration.
  • Assemble feedback on processes as the basis for future process documentation and improvement.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and projects as assigned by finance professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS   

  • Currently a junior or senior undergraduate or master's level student enrolled in a degree program in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Should be able to analyze and understand process mapping as a method of visualizing an ongoing process workflow.
  • Familiarity with accounting and financial concepts and principles.
  • Strong problem-solving and statistical data/analysis skills.
  • Ability to understand project objectives, grasp the interrelated nature of various processes and to successfully apply understanding to project outcomes.
  • An understanding financial ERP systems and Microsoft 365 applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
