Contingent Workforce Program Intern

Global Procurement delivers sourcing, supplier management and contract negotiation services to optimize spend and mitigate risk for Oracle. The “External Contractors” category team, spread across three regional hubs, provides expertise on matters related to the extended workforce; collaborating with internal stakeholders and suppliers to fulfill Oracle's business needs. In 14 countries, we leverage a third-party Vendor Management System (Beeline) to source, engage and manage a wide range of contractors throughout the lifecycle of their assignment. We refer to this internally as the Contingent Workforce Program (CWP). We also ensure all contractors requiring network access have a HR (HCM) identity record and comply with Oracle Policy.

Candidate Profile: 

  • Applicants must be a college student, in good standing, majoring in Business & Finance, Marketing or HR. 
  • Physical access to Oracle’s Rocklin, CA campus will be advantageous.
  • A genuine interest in contingent workforce management or a future role within the staffing and recruitment industry is highly preferred. 
  • Experience in using Excel to create reports and for data analysis purposes is essential.
  • The intern must possess strong organizational skills and be comfortable multi-tasking in a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ours is a global team. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as is a positive and customer orientated mind-set. 

 

Responsibilities expected to include, but are not limited to, the following: 

Supplier Contracting and Management

  • Witness our end-to-end process workflow, from receiving the initial business request to supplier sourcing, selection, contractor tracking & off-boarding activities. 
  • Learn about contingent worker types and which supplier agreements are applicable in different scenarios, as well as the negotiation and contract execution process. 
  • Assist the Program team by analyzing Program metrics and completing supplier scorecard templates. This allows us to measure performance and optimize our active supply chain. 

Technology & Automation

  • The intern will have visibility to various platforms and tools including Procurement Cloud, Beeline Vendor Management System (VMS), HCM, Service Cloud, Slack, Zoom and Outlook Exchange.
  • Assist the Program Director by reviewing content on the category web site and update document links or formatting errors as needed. Internal guides and communications are essential within a manager self-service environment.

Compliance

  • Learn about various Policies the Program team adheres to and enforces. The intern will be asked to complete compliance checks and spot audits, ensuring Oracle’s standards are met.
