SMO Project Coordinator Intern

Plains All American (PAA) is an industry-leading transportation and midstream provider specializing in transportation, storage, processing and marketing solutions for crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs). We own an extensive network of pipeline transportation, terminalling, storage and gathering assets in key crude oil and NGL producing basins and transportation corridors and at major market hubs in the United States and Canada. On average, PAA handles more than 6 million barrels per day of crude oil and NGL in its Transportation segment. The company is headquartered in Houston, Texas.

SMO Project Coordinator Intern 

 

Plains is currently looking for an SMO Project Coordinator Intern to join our team for a 13-week position beginning May 20, 2024. Successful candidates will participate in several meaningful projects that are designed to help interns gain hands-on experience and impact the bottom line of Plains business success. 

 Information Services, in partnership with business stakeholders, is embarking upon a multi-year effort to address legacy system risk, modernize systems, and rationalize our technology landscape. This effort has Executive visibility and aims to deliver material value creation in the form of significant risk mitigation, improved user experience, and modernization that is captured within our Enterprise Technology Plan (ETP).  

 Project coordinators for companies in different business sectors can expect to handle a number of tasks that are specific to their companies. But many of the key responsibilities are the same as included below: 

  • Monitoring the daily progress of projects   
  • Providing detailed updates to project managers or other stakeholders  
  • Ensuring team members have the supplies and resources they need to complete their assigned tasks on time and within their budget limits  
  • Service Now Reporting and data analysis  
  • Organizing reports, invoices, contracts, and other financial files for easy access  
  • Planning meetings and organizing project logistics 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Interns must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related fields 
  • Previous internships are considered an asset 
  • Strong business acumen 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Has a collaborative approach with team members, vendors, and business stakeholders 
  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills to effectively present ideas and concepts 
  • Ability to think independently and work within a team environment 
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities amongst competing issues and deadlines 
  • Interns must be able and willing to relocate themselves to Houston for the entire duration of the work term 
  • Interns must be able to commit to a 13-week work term starting May 20, 2024, to be considered for the program 
  • The successful candidate must comply with the Company’s Drug & Alcohol Policy including pre-employment testing 
  • The successful candidate must provide satisfactory references and complete a Criminal Background Check
