Leak Detection and Operations Technology Intern 

Plains All American (PAA) is an industry-leading transportation and midstream provider specializing in transportation, storage, processing and marketing solutions for crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs). We own an extensive network of pipeline transportation, terminalling, storage and gathering assets in key crude oil and NGL producing basins and transportation corridors and at major market hubs in the United States and Canada. On average, PAA handles more than 6 million barrels per day of crude oil and NGL in its Transportation segment. The company is headquartered in Houston, Texas.

Leak Detection and Operations Technology Intern 

 

Plains has a 13-week Internship opportunity available based in Houston, TX that will commence on May 20, 2024.  The PAA Internship Program will provide exceptional students interested in the oil and gas industry an opportunity to continue their professional development with the best in the business. The successful candidate will also participate in meaningful projects that are designed to both impact the bottom line of Plains business success and develop skills necessary for our graduate opportunities that strong performing interns may become eligible for upon graduation. The LD and OT Intern will have an opportunity for:  

  • Complex assignments with practical, on-the-job experience; 
  • Networking opportunities with senior management; 
  • Understanding a variety of business functions across division locations; 
  • Involvement in intern focused events to build relationships with other interns and full-time employees; 
  • Listening and implementing skills from experienced coaches and mentors; and 
  • An opportunity to explore future career options with Plains. 

 

Qualifications:  

  • Interns must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering;  
  • Previous work terms are considered an asset;  
  • Ideal candidates are analytical, creative, connected, and entrepreneurial;  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint;  
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python and VB Macros.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;  
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;  
  • Proven flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing business conditions;   
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating strong analytical and organizational skills;  
  • Interns must be able to commit to a 3-month work term starting May 20, 2024 to be considered for the program;   
  • The successful candidate must comply with the Company’s Drug & Alcohol Policy including pre-employment testing; and   
  • The successful candidate must provide satisfactory references and complete a Criminal Background Check.
