Intern, Enterprise Services/Automation/ RPA Development & Support

SUMMARY: 

The BioMarin Summer Internship Program will enable students to gain valuable experience and knowledge of the processes and systems within BioMarin, while gaining an insight into the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.  

DESCRIPTION: 

The RPA automation group is a team within BioMarin Enterprise Services Department that focuses on implementing and managing Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions. RPA is a technology that uses software robots or "bots" to automate repetitive and rule-based tasks, allowing employees to focus on more strategic and value-added activities.

The RPA automation group is responsible for identifying and analyzing business processes that can be automated, designing and developing RPA solutions tailored to BioMarin needs, and ensuring the successful deployment and ongoing maintenance of these solutions. We work closely with different departments and stakeholders to understand their requirements and pain points, and then leverage RPA tools and technologies to streamline and optimize processes.

Members of the RPA automation group are skilled in programming languages and have a deep understanding of various RPA tools and platforms. The group also stays up to date with the latest advancements in RPA and automation technologies to continuously improve and enhance BioMarin automation capabilities.

Overall, the RPA automation group plays a crucial role in driving digital transformation by leveraging RPA to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and improve productivity across various business functions within our company. 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION/PROJECT: 

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as an RPA Development Intern. As an intern, you will work closely with our RPA development team to assist in the design, development, and implementation of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions. This is a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of RPA and automation technologies while contributing to real-world projects. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with the RPA development team to understand business requirements and process workflows. 
  • Assist in the development and testing of RPA bots using industry-leading RPA tools and technologies.
  • Participate in the analysis and documentation of existing processes to identify automation opportunities.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure RPA solutions meet their needs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the development and deployment of RPA bots.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of RPA development methodologies and best practices.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in RPA and automation technologies.

 

Required Skills: 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

 

Desired Skills: 

  • Interest in pursuing a career in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
  • Familiarity with RPA tools like UiPath, Blue Prism, or Automation Anywhere and Power Automate is a plus.

 

Qualifications/Eligibility: 

  • Undergraduate Student int their 3rd of 4th year or Master’s candidate majoring in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Student must be returning to school in the Fall Term OR has graduated within the 1 year of the start of the program. 
  • Must be available to work 40 hours a week.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

In the U.S., the salary range for this position is $ 24.00 to $ 30.00 per hour, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
