IT Technical Environment Intern

The IT Internship is designed for a student seeking a degree in a field associated with Computer Science, Security or Management Information Systems to provide the opportunity to have an integrated work experience in the healthcare information technology field, and the opportunity to job shadow various positions of interest as well as work on a variety of Healthcare IT projects.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The IT Technical Environment Intern will support the Readiness & Delivery (Testing/Release) Team and the Database Administration Team. The selected candidate will work closely with both teams to understand the role in supporting the IT department in the testing/release process and database administration.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Learn about our testing process
  • Assist in the development/programming of testing automation scripts
  • Coordinate and perform quality assurance testing
  • Support our application release planning
  • Support our change management process
  • Shadow our database administrators
  • General exposure to IT processes, procedures and daily operational support with responsibilities and assignments that expose and build experience and skills related to IT technical support and security departments. 

 

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS :

 

Sitting for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; standing for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; walking for up to 2 hours a day, 1 hour at a time.  Requires crouching, kneeling, and lifting of objects weighing up to 60 pounds, pushing objects weighing up to 80 pounds.  Requires hand and finger dexterity to perform repairs of small equipment and to use computer equipment.  Seeing as it relates to general, near, color, and peripheral vision.  Hearing as it relates to normal and telephone conversations.

 

EDUCATION:

 

Currently enrolled in college seeking a degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems preferred.
