Job Description: Camp Huawni is seeking a motivated and compassionate Nurse Extern to join our team for the Summer 2024 season. As a Nurse Extern, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our campers and staff throughout their time at camp. This is a unique opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of the health field while enjoying a fulfilling summer in a vibrant camp setting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Camp Nurse in managing the camp health center and providing first aid and medical care to campers and staff.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and physician instructions.
- Monitor the overall health and hygiene of campers and staff, including conducting health screenings and maintaining accurate medical records.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide appropriate care until further assistance arrives.
- Educate campers and staff on health-related topics, including proper hygiene practices, sun safety, and injury prevention.
- Collaborate with other camp staff to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all campers and staff members.
