Summer Intern/Data Strategy & Operations

Department Description:

The Data Strategy and Operations team at ViiV Healthcare operates with a focus on data quality, data availability, and end-to-end asset onboarding. The overall goal of the department is to enhance current data capabilities and increase business collaboration to quickly deliver data for insights. This internship presents an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in data strategy and operations within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Job Description:

As a Data Operations Intern at ViiV Healthcare, your primary responsibilities will include collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and support initiatives, performing data validation, and maintenance to ensure accuracy and completeness of data. You will play a key role in enhancing data quality and integrity through tasks such as data cleansing, normalization, and supporting the implementation of data migration plans. Additionally, you will work closely with Data Analysts to create impactful visualizations utilizing SQL queries and other data manipulation tools, that effectively communicate insights to stakeholders, contributing to the overall success of the team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pursing a degree in Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or relevant disciplines.
  • Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the 12 week internship. 
  • Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of data operations, databases, and data management concepts
  • Familiarity with SQL and/or data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to the success of the team
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Benefits:

  • While GSK embraces a flexible work environment, we do require certain positions to be onsite. Candidates who are hired for an on-site role and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location are eligible for relocation stipend. This is a one-time payment to help offset housing & relocation expenses. Please refer to the position details for the requirements of each position.
