Visitor Center Attendant
Role Description
The Visitor Center Attendant is responsible for providing outstanding customer service and operating the welcome desk at Beaver Lake Nature Center’s year-round visitor center. Primary duties of this position include: opening and closing park facilities, greeting guests and responding to in-person and phone inquiries about park rules, attractions, and programs; processing front desk and retail transactions and recordkeeping; light cleaning and upkeep in and around the visitor center; and assisting with special events as required.
Position Term & Environment
This is a part-time position with opportunity for year-round work. Shift hours for this position may vary, but generally include weekday afternoons/evenings, as well as weekends (morning, afternoon, and evening). Position is scheduled for 20-24 hours/week in the summer; 12-18 hours/week in the other seasons. Rate of pay is $15/hour.
Qualifications
- Applicants must be 18 years old.
- Excellent people skills required; friendly, outgoing personality to work with guests, volunteers, and staff.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Education/experience in customer service, retail, park operations, recreation, or business administration is preferred.
