Sales Analyst Co Op

The Bimbo Bakeries USA Sales Co-Op program is a dynamic 5-months paid opportunity that affords students a remarkable experience to participate in fast-paced, real-world projects designed to further develop strategic project, management, analytical problem solving, and managerial leadership skills. Mentors will be designated to guide student collaborations and project work in each area. Students will be exposed to a variety of functional areas such as sales, distribution, and sales planning while earning college credits in various locations nationwide. The students will gain valuable experience and transferrable skills in the following areas:

  • Confident, self-starter, who is also results-driven and demonstrates professionalism
  • Serves in this business-critical role of Sales Analyst
  • Supplies analytical support to the Sales Technology Team to understand the customer’s performance and provide continuous optimization recommendations at both a brand and customer level
  • Creates, formats, and understands reports of information to allow a more sustainable capability for informing associates across the organization of performance opportunities with market execution
  • The ideal candidate has experience working with various customer datasets, distilling information, can answer the “so what” of the data, and then can pull it all together with storytelling that answers the “now what”

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Access relevant information, interpret results, draw conclusions, and forms recommendations about opportunities to improve sales plan performance
  • Use data manipulation and analytical tools to define, build and deliver usable, graphical reports that help guide market execution of action based on patterns, behaviors or correlations determined by the inputs
  • Works proactively in uncovering opportunities while working closely with Senior Customer Executives, Data visualization experts and the DSDE Center of Excellence to create content shared in weekly customer meetings and to distribute nationwide to local sales teams
  • Support the development of templates and standardized processes for post-program reporting
  • Builds and delivers post-program reporting promotions
  • Leads by organizing disparate pieces of information into clear and concise reports
  • Responsible for supplying sales data results to Senior Customer Executive who will present data directly to the customer
  • Present internally and to external business partners, including the customer
  • Measure and build business case inputs from results of the reports and data availability for the sales teams to uncover the potential impacts of more automated, generalized approaches to the reporting
  • Create data integration requirements and work with IT development and DSDE product teams to craft standard and custom interface specifications for data coming in from customers or third parties and resulting in standard sales action reports or as inputs to other analytical systems
  • Analyze input customer data to determine identification methods for data quality anomalies and indicators guiding data governance and the use of inputs for reporting, action or other system analysis

  • Some travel and time in customer and company locations may be required. Estimated 10% travel (costs covered by company)

Education and Work History:

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or a related field preferred
  • Technical capabilities in manipulating data, managing the creation and modification of analytical tools, and other manipulation and data visualization tools may be preferred over specific other experience or education
  • Knowledge and use of Excel, SQL, PowerBI, PowerApps Qlik or other similar systems is a plus
