Design for Health and Well-Being Assistant

Your detailed missions will be discussed during your interview with your supervisor.

Possible Responsibilities

  • Project Involvement: Contribute to ongoing and upcoming research projects by actively participating in brainstorming sessions, conducting literature reviews, and assisting in the design and execution of experiments and studies.
  • Collaboration:Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with researchers in design, healthcare, and creative practices, bringing fresh perspectives to the table and contributing to the holistic approach of our research group.
  • Data Analysis:Assist in the analysis of research data, utilizing relevant software tools and methodologies to derive meaningful insights that contribute to the overall goals of the research projects.
  • Documentation:Maintain accurate and detailed records of research methodologies, data collection processes, and outcomes. Contribute to the creation of reports, articles, and presentations for internal and external dissemination.
  • Event Coordination:Support the planning and execution of events that bring together the wider design and health community, fostering networking opportunities and knowledge exchange.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program in design, healthcare, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in interdisciplinary research and a desire to contribute to projects that have a positive impact on health and wellbeing.
  • Proficiency in research methodologies, data analysis tools, and design software.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative and dynamic research environment.
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute creatively to the ongoing initiatives of the research center.

 

About the Organization

Interdisciplinary research group, based on a collaborative community of researchers in design, healthcare and creative practices. We work together to address real world issues that impact on health and wellbeing, developing products, services and interventions that promote dignity and enhance quality of life. Our work has spanned more than 150 research projects and has included collaborations in over 80 academic, hospital and community organisations in over 15 countries. We create opportunities to share work and bring the wider design and health community together through a regular series of events and publications. More recently, we have worked with leading published Taylor & Francis to launch a new international refereed journal, Design For Health.

 

On-site Supervision and Support

Our internships include 24/7 on-site staff to support students working and living abroad. All students will also report to a supervisor at their internship site. Supervisors provide and oversee daily tasks, introduce the intern to team members, and mentor the intern in organizational agility, skill acquisition, and career readiness. Interns complete a midpoint and final evaluation, and supervisors complete a final evaluation of their interns. All work responsibilities and projects are approved in advance. 
 

Academic Credit

Students on an internship have the opportunity to enroll in their home university for credit, or enroll in a course through API to transfer back to their university for credit. Email support-internships@apiexperience.com for more information and a syllabus.

Housing and excursions are included in your internship and will be selectable during the application process.
