Are you ready to elevate your career in the real estate sector? The Department of Real Estate and Airport Management (DREAM) is seeking talented and motivated Property Agents to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to engage in complex and rewarding real estate transactions across a variety of exciting projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquisitions & Dispositions: Spearheaded sensitive property transactions, including buying, selling, and leasing.
  • Lease Administration & Municipal Asset Services: Oversee lease agreements, ensuring effective administration and compliance.
  • Special Projects & Valuations: Conduct thorough appraisals and valuations, providing crucial insights for decision-making.
  • Relocation & Rights-of-Way Negotiations: Masterfully negotiate terms to support city-sponsored projects, ensuring fair and beneficial outcomes.
  • Real Property & Asset Management: Strategize and manage property assets to optimize their value and utility.
  • General Aviation Property Leasing & Development: Play a key role in the leasing and development of aviation-related properties.

 

What We Offer:

Competitive and already scheduled wage increases: 

  1. 4% (7/1/24), 
  2. 2% (1/1/25), 
  3. 5% (7/1/25).

Retirement Benefits: Benefit from automatic enrollment in the San Diego City Employees Retirement System (SDCERS) for eligible employees hired after July 10, 2021.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education (i.e., minimum completed units = 120 semester/180 quarter).
 

EXPERIENCE:  Three years of full-time commercial real estate property transactional experience in at least ONE of the following areas:

  • Appraisal/valuation
  • Acquisitions and disposition
  • Relocation and right-of-way
  • Property and/or asset management
  • Commercial sales/leasing
  • Commercial real estate brokerage

HIGHLY DESIRABLE:

  • Advanced Degrees: Bachelor's or higher in Real Estate, Business, Urban Planning, or Economics.
  • Specialized Experience: Governmental or public agency work, complex lease negotiations, financial analysis, GIS and mapping skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Zoom, knowledge of FAA regulations, and a real estate appraisal license.
