Associate Technology Internship - OneMain Financial

OneMain Financial is seeking exceptional undergraduate students to join our Technology Internship. In this 12-week paid, remote, internship program you will dive into the deep end of consumer finance technology as you work with our renown technologist in the industries of Cybersecurity, Data and Software Engineering and Cloud Infrastructure. 

During the internship program, you will benefit from both formal and informal guidance and training. Our Summer program offers insights into technical skills and essential professional behaviors, standards, and mindsets necessary for a successful internship experience. The program incorporates team-based, hands-on exercises, and activities. In addition to formal training sessions, you will collaborate with skilled professionals, providing opportunities to ask questions and acquire practical real-world experience. Finally, you will have direct exposure to our senior technology leaders who are eager to share their perspectives from their own career arcs, as well as their thoughts on where this industry is headed.

In the Role

  • Apply strategic thinking and analytic skills to solve complex, unstructured business problems.
  • Actively contribute to our team’s vibrant culture through sharing knowledge, helping peers, and being a great person to work with.
  • Develop creative technical solutions to improve the company’s decision making, the customer’s experience, and shareholder returns.
  • Participate in team meetings, providing insights into ongoing issues and contributing to the overall improvement of operations processes.
  • Learn and work as a Cyber Engineer, Data Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer or Software Developer depending on the skillset and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Current undergraduate student actively enrolled in Cybersecurity, Software Engineering or Computer Science degree program discipline or related field (examples: Engineering, Statistics, Biostatistics, Physics, Economics) with an expected graduation date of Winter 2024.
  • Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to explain technical topics and concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Innovative and capable of developing creative solutions to complex, data-driven problems.
  • Proven experience (in an academic, athletic, volunteer, or employment context) working with teams of diverse individuals to deliver complex projects.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

  • They will also demonstrate curiosity, creative problem solving, integrative business thinking, teamwork, and bias for action.
