Job Description:

Position Description:

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is seeking a skilled and detail-orientated Labor Relations Investigator to join the team. In this role, the Labor Investigator will report to the Senior Director of Employment Relations and will play a crucial part in handling investigations related to labor relations and attend terminations, suspension, and investigatory meetings.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Possession of a valid security license and driving license.
  • Proven experience in conducting workplace investigations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Detailed Tasks:

  • Conduct thorough and unbiased investigations into labor-related matters, including but not limited to employee complaints, disputes and policy violations.
  • Collaborate with Labor Relations on PAGNY and H+H related matters to gather information, interview relevant parties, and analyze information to make informed decisions.
  • Attend terminations, suspension proceedings and other safety sensitive meetings, and provide security and surveillance as needed.
  • Monitor the completion status of performance evaluations. Continuously review and refine the performance evaluation process to streamline procedures and enhance efficiency.
  • Provide support and guidance to managers regarding the performance evaluation process, including answering queries and offering assistance as needed.
  • Attend union safety walk throughs with Labor Relations in all CHS facilities (including jails on Rikers Island).

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources Management, Labor Relations, Public Relations, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline; or
  2. Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources Management, Labor Relations, Public Relations, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline and two (2) years of relevant experience in human resources or personnel administration, labor relations, employee relations, learning and development, talent acquisition, customer service (providing information and resolving customer concerns), or a related administrative support function; or
  3. High School Diploma or its educational equivalent and four (4) years of relevant experience, as described in “2” above.
