Position Summary

DMA’s Business License team provides our compliance expertise to help ease our clients’ administrative workload. Our work helps give them peace of mind that their business is compliant with business license and permitting requirements. Your internship experience with our team will improve your analytical reasoning, resourcefulness, and communication skills, while helping you develop strategies for working more efficiently and accurately. Throughout your internship, you will assist the Business License Managers and Auditor with special projects related to the business license compliance process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with special projects as assigned
  • Assist Compliance Analysts with business license renewals and reporting
  • Assist Compliance Analysts with researching licensing requirements for new client locations
  • Assist Compliance Auditor with data gathering, reporting, and remediation of various departmental processes
  • Contact jurisdictions to investigate, document, and resolve issues for licenses that haven’t been received within 30 days of submission

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist Compliance Analysts with license follow-up calls when needed
  • Assist Business License Assistants with scanning, uploading, and file management
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Qualification Requirements

  • Pursuing degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred
  • Organizational, research and interpersonal skills required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and deadlines
