Job Posting Administrative Specialist 2 – Business & Project Management Intern

We are seeking a college or graduate intern to join our team and provide support for various public transportation programs with a projected start date in May 2024. You will assist staff in collecting, managing and organizing public transportation and passenger rail data and assist with governmental agreements, procurement and contract management. This is a part-time position. The posted salary/pay range for this announcement is based on full-time hours; the salary will be prorated for part-time hours

You will learn how to:

Provide support for the Oregon Passenger Rail program, Innovative Mobility Program, Transportation Options Program and Statewide Intercity Network.

Research, communicate and create outreach information including developing outreach and educational resources.

Process agreements with public transportation service providers.

Work on projects related to the provision of transportation services and equitable engagement.

Manage projects and programs including developing plans, grant applications and contract administration and management.

Support work with legislative and government agencies.

Gather and manage data and consult with staff.

Grow your presentation skills and learn how to prepare for and facilitate meetings.

 

Minimum qualifications:

 

We are accepting applications from college students who are entering their junior or senior year at the time of hire (May 2024) in public administration, urban planning, data analysis management, program and project management, public transportation or government.

OR

Graduate students who are entering their first or second year at the time of hire (May 2024) in public administration, urban planning, data analysis management, program and project management, public transportation or government.

Coursework or experience in transportation planning, public transit, multimodal transportation, public services in government, project management, policy or planning.

Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

Experience working independently and collaboratively.

Experience with reading and interpreting laws, rules and regulations.

Experience and skills using Microsoft Office/365 and Windows operating system.

Experience performing simple to moderately complicated data and statistical analysis in Excel.
