As part of our growing team, we are seeking an entry level Water Resources Engineer Intern or someone with professional work experience to contribute to our exceptional Water Resources team and play a pivotal role in our continued success. As a Water Resources Engineer Intern, you will work under the direction of a seasoned Water Resources Engineer or Project Manager to carry out specific and detailed instructions on simple to moderately complex hydraulic and hydrologic calculations. You will provide design support, research studies and planning documents related to various stormwater and floodplain management projects in conjunction with private site development and public infrastructure improvements. This will primarily support stormwater management studies and plans, preliminary design studies, floodplain studies, or watershed planning and environmental-based studies. You will actively become involved with the completion of stormwater management reports, including the analysis and design of detention and post-construction water quality facilities in accordance with local and state-wide regulatory guidelines. In addition, you will be involved with assisting in the preparation of floodplain permit applications, including hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and FEMA map change applications. You will perform engineering calculations, using HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, PCSWMM or similar software for conducting water resources calculations, and will use GIS to demonstrate study results and AutoCAD to demonstrate design solutions. Finally, you will also perform other responsibilities as assigned. 

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, required; someone with experience in the field of water resources engineering with a consulting firm or regulating agency; exposure to modeling software applications such as HydroCAD and HEC-RAS; the ability to utilize AutoCAD and GIS in support of site design and to augment stormwater and floodplain management studies, as well as the ability to assist in technical writing to prepare a variety of engineering documents and reports, preferred.
