Summer Internship Opportunity: MLDP Intern for Line Support Engineering

Whirlpool Corporation’s Tulsa Operations is excited to offer a dynamic summer internship opportunity within our Manufacturing Leadership Development Program (MLDP). We are looking for an ambitious Engineering Intern to take on the role of support engineer for Lines 1-3 under the mentorship of Senior Assembly engineer. This project is crucial for enhancing our manufacturing efficiency and integrating new products seamlessly into our production lines.

Project Overview:

  • Name: Line 1-3 Support Engineer
  • Objectives:
    • Achieve Tulsa Operations savings through RTR and other P4G initiatives.
    • Assess and manage the impact of new products on Lines 1-3.
    • Assist in various projects related to Lines 1-3, ensuring smooth operations and integration of improvements.

Key Experiences & Skills Gained:

  • Forge partnerships across Operations, Engineering, Maintenance to drive impactful changes.
  • Engage in Project Management, Data Analysis, Problem Solving, and Continuous Improvement practices.
  • Gain exposure to AI camera systems.
  • Experience hands-on work on manufacturing lines.

Expected Outcomes / Key Deliverables:

  • Efficient management of projects concerning Lines 1-3.
  • Aid in reducing downtime by 20%.
  • Perform layout updates to ensure operations are current and efficient.

Skills Needed / Preferred:

  • CAD experience.
  • A willingness to learn new technologies.
  • In-house training will be provided.
  • An engineering mindset.
  • Experience in material handling is advantageous.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Engineering program.
  • A keen interest in manufacturing processes, project management, and technology implementation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaborative skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to project goals.
