Real Estate Intern

Summary

The Real Estate Intern will work with the Strategy & Site Assessment Division of the Real Estate Department and Head Office Construction Department on a variety of tasks and assignments that will span the full life cycle of store development. The Intern will be provided with an opportunity to receive unique hands on training by applying both technical skills of Geographic Information System (GIS) and understanding of the Real Estate and Construction Process 

What You’ll Do

•    Assist with conducting various customer behavior and expansion analysis 
•    Support analyzing current and future real estate expansion areas
•    Assist with reviewing site assessment submissions 
•    Create proposals and conduct new types of geospatial analyses through the use of the Lidl GIS system 
•    Reviewing Due Diligence reports
•    Attend Construction Site Visits
 

What You’ll Need

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 
•    Experience with GIS highly recommended 
•    Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
•    Ability to work independently or in a team in an open office environment
•    Strong research and analytical skills
•    Ability to commit to a full time work schedule (40 hours per week)

Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience 
•    Pursuing a degree in the Geospatial Sciences (GIS, Geography, Location Analysis, Cartography, etc.), Real Estate Development, or similar at an accredited University
•    Must be a rising Junior or Senior with a 3.0 or higher-grade point average

Physical Job Requirements 
•    Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
•    Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Travel Requirements 
•    This position commutes between stores, regional offices and/or distribution centers less than 25% of the time
 

What You’ll Receive

Full-time, paid 10-week internship, running from June 10-August 16
Hybrid working model based out of the Company headquarters located in Arlington, VA
Compensation of $20 per hour
Hands on learning and experience working on real projects
