Elementary Teacher (K-4)
Job Summary:
Greater Works Christian School (GWCS) is seeking dedicated and passionate Elementary Teachers to join our team for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. You will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on students' lives by providing instruction and maintaining a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Create and follow lesson plans
- Implement effective teaching strategies to engage students in the learning process
- Adapt instructional materials and methods to meet the needs of individual students
- Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment ranging in size from 7 to 16 students
- Manage student behavior and enforce school policies
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to ensure continuity of instruction
- Provide feedback to the administration regarding student progress and behavior
Experience:
- Experience working with students in an educational setting
- Familiarity with curriculum development and instructional techniques
- Experience tutoring or providing one-on-one support to students
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
- Understanding of childhood development stages and milestones
- Proficiency in behavior management techniques
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Patience and empathy when working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and routines
- Flexibility in handling unexpected changes or challenges
