About the Role:  This position is intended to support safety, natural gas, and environmental regulatory compliance using ArcMap, Adobe Pro, and Microsoft Visio software to produce maps that represent the location of specific utility facilities. Queries tabular and spatial data from geographic information system (GIS), customer information system, and asset management systems. Utilizes Excel and Power BI to analyze specific data. Assists with utility records research, data validation, data analysis, and problem resolution. Assists with preparation of work site drawings, facility emergency management program, and special sketches. Works independently and expected to be self-motivated and flexible to perform daily tasks and accept additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary work; exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Physical demands for a specific position within this classification may vary and / or exceed those demands described above.

 Minimum Requirements:

Must be and maintain full-time student status of an accredited college or university pursuing an Associates, Bachelors, or a graduate-level degree

Have and maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher

Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Must possess skills in MS Office applications, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Successful completion of college or university coursework with ESRI products, ability to learn AdobePro, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft PowerBI

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Valid driver's license


 

Preferred Requirements: 

Pursuing an undergraduate or a graduate-level degree in GIS, Data Analytics, Engineering Technology, or related field

Experience using ESRI Geographical Information Systems, ArcMap, Adobe Pro, Microsoft Visio, and PowerBI

Be able to work a minimum of 30-35 hours per week during the summer
