Spring 2026 Tax Internship - Warner Robins, GA
Nichols, Cauley & Associates, LLC, a growing CPA Firm with multiple offices throughout the State of Georgia, is searching for College Students interested completing an Accounting Internship Program with the firm. Opportunities will include working in the areas of audit and/or tax and accounting services. The Tax Intern will support the tax department in various tasks related to tax compliance, research, and client service. Under the supervision of experienced professionals, the intern will gain hands-on experience in preparing tax returns, conducting tax research, and assisting with client inquiries.
Tax Preparation: Assist in preparing various types of tax returns, such as individual, corporate, partnership, or trust returns. This involves gathering relevant financial information, inputting data into tax software, and verifying accuracy.
Tax Research: Conduct research on tax laws, regulations, and rulings to assist with tax planning and compliance. Compile findings into reports and summaries for review by senior staff.
Client Assistance: Aid in responding to client inquiries and requests. This may involve preparing correspondence, explaining tax-related information, and providing support to address client concerns.
Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain organized and accurate tax files, ensuring all necessary documentation is properly recorded and stored for compliance purposes.
Assist with Audits and Reviews: Support the tax team during audits or reviews by gathering and organizing relevant documents and information.
Stay Updated on Tax Regulations: Keep abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and contribute to the development of informed tax strategies.
Collaboration: Work closely with team members to complete tasks efficiently and contribute to the overall success of the tax department.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Accounting.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Familiarity with tax laws and regulations is a plus.
