Operations Accounting Internship - Summer 2024 - New Braunfels, TX

Overview

Webber, a leader in the construction industry, is seeking interns to continue to develop its pipeline of new full-time talent. Webber actively recruits the best and brightest professionals and team players in the construction industry. We're looking for accounting and finance interns who are enthusiastic and dedicated to learning our exciting industry. We strive to attract individuals who seek to excel. This internship will provide experience in the full cost accounting cycle which includes:

Job Duties

1.      Establish and enter job budget into accounting system

2.      Collect delivery tickets

3.      Verify purchase order pricing

4.      Process invoices

5.      Enter invoices

6.      Enter subcontractor payments and verify their contractual compliance

7.      Create and enter material, trucking and subcontractor accruals

8.      Manage project inventory and accruals

9.      Compare budget to what was entered

10.  Identify reasons for deviations with budget

11.  Identify reasons for deviations from monthly/yearly revenue and gross profit forecasts

 

Qualifications

1.      High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

2.      Must be enrolled in a 4-year Accounting degree program

3.      Be able to communicate in English via verbal and written communications

4.      Moderate to high level of computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook

5.      Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers

6.      Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Full understanding of Construction Math concepts

7.      Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature. 

8.      Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers
