Summer Camp Motor Boat Driver
Camp Tapawingo is a traditional, all-girls summer camp in Sweden, Maine. Our 200 acres of woods, fields and sandy beaches overlook Mt. Washington and the White Mountains in the Lakes Region of Maine. Each summer, over 100 staff members come from all over the world to teach new skills, grow campers, and make lifelong friends. You'll spend your days driving our ski boat on our calm lake and helping kids learn to water ski.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Completed one year of college or equivalent and at least 21 years of age
- Valid US drivers license and boat driving experience (experience pulling skiiers preffered)
- Education and experience in camp, youth programs, recreation, working with children, or in a related field preffered
- Desire to be in the company of children
- Exhibits the following skills: leadership, communication, problem-solving, mediation, organization
- Exhibits the following characteristics: stamina, caring personality, adaptability, grit
- Ability to work in a team and accept supervision
Responsibilities
- Ensures the cleanliness of activity area
- Facilitates and creates a safe environment
- Organizes and leads various small and large group activities
- Assists in maintaining accurate program records, including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance
General Responsibilities
- Knows and understands all emergency procedures associated with the camp program
- Knows, enforces, and follows all safety guidelines associated with the camp program
- Must be able to carry heavy loads and travel hilly and uneven terrain
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks outside in various climates
